Brave Heart update on Sendra

Sendra is battling lymphoma. She has undergone several chemo treatments. She has several doctors appointments and test every week battling to keep her white cell counts up.

Tuesday she is scheduled for a surgery to remove some of the structural damage the lymphoma caused in her stomach. This is an in patient surgery with a week stay in the hospital for recovery. After the hospital stay she will have to start radiation right away.

Thursday is Thanksgiving friends. More than anything Sendra LOVES family. She would much rather be at home in the kitchen making tamales for her friends and family than laying in a hospital bed.

We are asking for prayers for Sendra and her family. Sendra reads every comment left here for her. Please leave an encouraging word or prayer. Remember her family this week when you are giving thanks with your loved ones.

Brandi had just moved out on her own.  It was long before she discovered she was pregnant.  Some health problems surfaced due to the pregnancy and she found herself in the hospital.  She thought her boyfriend was cheating on her and just felt alone and scared. She poured her heart to a nurse named Angel.  Angel informed her about this group she had heard of called Embrace Grace.  It was then I had the pleasure of talking to Brandi for the first time.  She had no one.  She had lost her mom at a young age and her grandparents that had parented her where gone now as well.  She was just looking, looking for someone to let her know that everything was going to be okay.  That the life inside of her was going to be provided for and how God would provide it.

“I felt like I was drowning before and no one cared. But Embrace Grace proved to me that there is someone out there that does care.  I had never meet people like them before.  You just feel love and accepted.  I can’t say thank you enough.  They didn’t just save me they showed me a new way of life.”

Each family will be presented with a print release to allow them to print their pictures wherever they please and have freedom with their pictures for personal purposes.

SENDRA

Sendra’s stomach had been hurting sporadically over the past year.  She tried to fault it to a bad diet but it became a daily annoyance of stomach cramps and unpleasant irritation.  May 2014, Sendra ended up in the ER because the pain was excruciating. A scan was suggested to rule out any obstructions. It revealed that she had a mass. She was instructed to go to a specialist for further testing.  Thankfully, she was scheduled straightaway. After enduring several more test, Sendra received the devastating news that she has cancer, specifically stomach lymphoma.

Sendra is giving this battle over to God. She has been very strong and determined. Determined because she wants her three children to have their mom and she has a hubby that adores her. She has now undergone 4 chemo treatments. The love and support has been pouring in from her friends and family. She will undergo a pet scan in a week to see if the chemo is working.   Please keep this family in your prayers. If you would like to share an encouraging thought or prayer, I will personally see that it is shared with her.
